Services for Arleatheia M. Smith, 68, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at South Union Missionary Baptist with the Rev. T.L. Dilworth officiating and the Rev. Keith Parkes as interment pastor.  Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith died Friday at Memorial Hospital.
She was born  in Anderson County on March 10, 1928, to Johnny and Classie Page Johnson.  She was a lifelong member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Gospel Choir, Mission No. 2 and Senior Adult Sunday School Class.  She was a superintendent of the Baptist Training Union.
Mrs. Smith attended school in Palestine.  She was a member of the Order of the eastern Star Namonia Chapter No. 50 and the NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Kenneth Smith; sisters, Savannah Johnson Guillette and Idell Johnson; and brothers, Corrie Johnson, Hazel Johnson and R.L. Johnson.
She is survived by sons, Donald E. Smith, Isaac Smith, Jr. and Ezell W. Smith, all of Palestine; daughters, Betty J. Smith of Palestine and Jackie Smith Abrams of Huntsville, Ala.; sisters, Wade Riley and Johnnie Lee Moore, both of Palestine; brothers, Johnny Johnson and Paul Jerry Johnson, both of Palestine, J.D. Johnson of Houston and Dock Johnson of Englewood, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive condolence calls from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Arleatheia Smith was born in Anderson County on March 10, 1928 to the union of Johnny and Classie Page Johnson.
She was a lifetime member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a member of the Gospel Choir, Mission #2, Senior Adult Sunday School Class and was a Superintendent of the Baptist Training Union.
She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Naomi Chapter #50 and the N AACP.
Mrs. Smith received her education in the Palestine Schools.
In 1946 she was united in holy matrimony to Isaac Smith, Sr.  This union was blessed with six children.
Mrs. Smith died on Friday, April 19, 1996 at Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; a son, Kenneth Smith; sisters, Savannah Johnson Guillette, Idell Johnson; brothers, Corrie Johnson, Hazel Johnson and R.L. Johnson.
She is survived by:  three sons, Donald D and Marily Smith, Isaac Jr. and Elva Smith, Ezell W. and Arnella Smith all of Palestine, Texas; two daughters, Bettye J. and Gregory Blackmon of Palestine, Texas and Jackie S. and Lawrence Abrams of Huntsville, Alabama; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Wade Riley and Johnnie Lee Moore both of Palestine; four brothers, Johnny Johnson, Paul Jerry Johnson of Palestine, J.D. Johnson of Houston, Texas and Dock Johnson of Englewood, California; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
